Self-build Register

This document contains key data regarding the City of York Council's (CYC) self-build register and the types of plots and opportunities those signed up the register are looking for. The register provides data about demand for self-build and custom housebuilding which CYC uses when carrying out planning, housing, land disposal and regeneration functions. Data about demand will guide the number, location, and type of self-build and custom-build plots that CYC seeks to permit. Registration does not guarantee that a suitable plot will be identified or become available. Please be aware that this dataset contains data from everyone eligible who has signed up and not asked to be removed from the register. Due to this, the number of people indicated may not tally with the numbers reported by MHCLG on the government website. This dataset is updated once a year.
