#Request _Could you please let me know how many payments have been made in England in regard to compensation for deaths and injuries caused by any of the covid vaccines._ ##Response All data as of 9 October 2023. All data relates to claims received by the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) and those transferred from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) on 1 November 2021. All figures provided relate to COVID-19 vaccines. The Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme (VDPS) is not a compensation scheme. It provides a one-off tax free payment, currently £120,000, to successful applicants who, on very rare occasions, are severely disabled as a result of a vaccine against a specified disease, within the meaning of the Vaccine Damage Payments Act. 126 Vaccine Damage Payments for COVID-19 have been made to claimants with an address in England. __Data Queries__ If you have any queries regarding the data provided, or if you plan on publishing the data please contact [email protected] ensuring you quote the above reference.
