We have handled your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). ##Our response I can confirm that the NHSBSA holds the information you have requested and a copy of the information is attached. Please read the below notes to ensure correct understanding of the data. Dependants and pension credit members are included in the above volumes, as are members who are now deceased and no longer in receipt of benefits. Pension rate is based on what the active rate in payment was on 6 April 2024, 6 April 2025, and 6 April 2026 respectively. It does not necessarily mean the member held that pension rate for the previous or subsequent 12 months, as rates can change throughout the year. These volumes reflect the number of people in payment in the year in question; it isn’t necessarily the year the pensioners commenced pension, or the pension they were implemented with, it is an ongoing rolling figure. The members may not be in receipt of pension in subsequent years or still be in payment today. It doesn’t include lump sum payments made, only ongoing annual pension. Members are counted once in each bracket based on their active pension rate on the respective dates requested. Practitioners are defined as any member with practitioner service; they may have also had concurrent officer service. __Data Queries__ Please contact [email protected] ensuring you quote the above reference if you have any specific questions regarding this response; or, if you feel you may be misunderstanding or misinterpreting the information; or, if you plan on publishing the data. __Reusing the data and copyright__ If you plan on producing a press or broadcast story based upon the data please contact [email protected] .
