#Request# 1) I would like to have the information about how many PCNs issued for prescriptions issued where the prepayment claim was found not to be valid. 2) I would like to know how many of those PCNs were successfully challenged and the main reasons 3) I would like to know how many of the claims that were not successfully challenged proceeded to debt collection 4) I would like to know how many of the claims that went to debt collection had a CCJ issued and how many CCJs were refused #Response# The data below relates to 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2023. Question 1 274,320 Question 2 31,859 successfully challenged. 12,100 PCNs were cancelled and 19,759 were closed for exemption confirmed. Cancelled Cases are more circumstantial rather than due to exemption confirmed. Reasons for cancelled cases include but are not limited to; letters returned to the BSA as undelivered; the patient paid for the prescription or dental treatment at the pharmacy / dental practice; a prescription keying error; and Asylum Seekers.
