Thank you for your request for information about the following: Request Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request the following information: The number of prescriptions for metyrosine issued in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland respectively, for each year from 2018 to 2024 If available, a breakdown by region or prescribing NHS trust. I would prefer to receive the information in electronic format (CSV or Excel). The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) received your request on 19 May 2025. We have handled your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). ##Our response I am writing to advise you that following a search of our paper and electronic records, I have established that the information you requested is not held by the NHSBSA. Advice and assistance NHSBSA reporting uses the British National Formulary (BNF) coding for data capture and then reporting. Metyrosine is listed in our drug database as “Metirosine (Demser(Imported(United States))brand)”. This is a secondary care product and is only used in hospitals.
