Thank you for your request for information about the following: ##Request I understand NHS Commissioning Support Units (CSUs) sit under the NHS BSA as a parent organisation (with a link to NHS England). I also understand that CSUs are to close by end of March 2027 and that presently, funding for redundancies is yet to be identified. If 31st March 2027 arrives with no funding identified for redundancy under the employee's NHS CSU contractual terms and conditions (e.g. one months pay for each year worked, up to a maximum of 24 years), then would there be a possibility that the person being made redundant will not receive their contractual redundancy pay, but instead the bare minimum redundancy payment under the Government redundancy pay scheme (as detailed at https://www.gov.uk/redundancy-your-rights/redundancy-pay)? Or is the latter just for employees working for private companies and that therefore, the NHS CSU must continue to employ the employee beyond it's current stated closure date until such time as NHS CSU employee redundancy contractual terms and funding are met? The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) received your request on 15 October 2025. We have handled your request under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000. ##Our response I am writing to advise you that following a search of our paper and electronic records, I have established that the information you requested is not held by the NHSBSA. ##Advice and Assistance Having reviewed your request, I believe that it is possible that NHS England may hold some or all of the information you require. They can be contacted at: NHS England PO Box 16738 Redditch B97 9PT Email: [email protected] Alternatively, you can contact the CSU’s directly for this information.
