Thank you for your request for information about the following: ##Request ‘the following data for obstetric negligence claims resulting in neonatal brain injury (including hypoxicischaemic encephalopathy and cerebral palsy), for claims notified and settled between financial years 2017/18 and 2024/25: The age of the child at claim notification is categorised into the following bands: 0–2 years 3–5 years 6–11 years 12–15 years 16–18 years Over 18 years The age of the child at settlement, using the same age bands. Median and interquartile ranges for: Time from incident (birth) to notification of claim. Time from the incident (birth) to the settlement of the claim. If available, anonymised breakdown by ethnicity of the mother/child. Please provide counts for each category.’ The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) received your request on 4 October 2025.
