'Consultation modality' means the recorded mode of the consultation at which the fit note was issued: face-to-face, telephone, video, or any other category recorded in NHS primary care systems. Please provide aggregated management information already held by NHS England for the calendar years 2022 to the the most recent period for which data is compiled) (1) The total number of fit notes issued, broken down by consultation modality and by the fit note outcome (fit for work, not fit for work, may be fit for work with adjustments). (2) The total number of fit notes issued at consultations recorded as 'telephone' or 'video' where the consultation purpose recorded was solely or primarily the issuance of a fit note (i.e. where no other clinical action was recorded in the same consultation), if this field is available in NHS primary care data. If consultation modality at the time of fit note issuance is not a compiled management information field, please provide instead the total number of fit notes issued by outcome category for the period requested, and confirm whether modality data is held but not routinely compiled. I am requesting aggregate figures only and no information identifying any individual patient, GP, or practice.
