##Request I would like to know how many people actually paid this fine and also how many people have been sent to court regarding this matter? The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) received your request on 3 May 2024. On 10 May you clarified: The dates I'm requesting are from 2010 to the present day as this was when this current government came into power ##Response I can confirm that the NHSBSA holds the information you have requested • 1,081,286 cases have paid the penalty charge in full • 219,940 cases have paid both the penalty charge and the surcharge in full. • No one has been taken to court. Please read the below notes to ensure correct understanding of the data: • We do not hold data for how many individual people have paid a fine. The data provided is based on the number of cases, rather than the number of individuals, where a fine has been paid. • We have included any cases that are classed as fully paid and have paid either the penalty charge or both the penalty charge and surcharge. • This data is correct as of 20th May 2024. • The Prescription Exemption Checking Service started in 2014. The data provided is therefore from 2014 to 20th May 2024.
