Apprentice levy returns

Calderdale Council remains committed to creating opportunities through apprenticeships and workforce development. Between 1 April 2017 and 31 March 2021, public sector organisations in England with 250 or more employees were required to work towards the Government's Public sector apprenticeship target. This target aimed for new apprenticeship starts to average at least 2.3% of the workforce during that period. As part of this requirement, organisations were required to publish apprenticeship workforce data and submit returns to the Department for Education. Although the statutory reporting requirement has now ended, Calderdale Council continues to publish apprenticeship data to provide transparency and demonstrate its ongoing commitment to developing local talent and skills. Apprenticeships remain an important part of Calderdale Council's approach to workforce development, helping people to gain valuable skills, qualifications and experience while supporting the delivery of high quality services.
