Read the full news article for further details. Dataset Description The Contractor Details dataset is published monthly and contains a list of contractors. NHSBSA maintains a detailed view of the NHS organisational hierarchy structure for England, which enables more comprehensive information to be provided in this dataset. The list of contractors is based on information supplied to NHS Prescription Services by Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and should be treated as a guide only, due to challenges in gathering this information and delays in notifying NHS Prescription Services of changes. Coverage for Wales and the Crown Dependencies (Jersey, Isle of Man, Guernsey and Alderney) is more limited and reflects only the information held within the NHSBSA organisational database. No contractor information is held for Scotland or Northern Ireland. Contractors indicated as 'Private’ captures private prescribing information for controlled drugs Schedule 2 and 3 (Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001) for information purposes. Community pharmacies who submit FP10PCD forms require a private controlled drug account number which should be used when submitting these forms. This account number should also be used for submitting CD requisition forms and is a different account to the NHS account number used by contractors to submit NHS prescriptions. Time Periods Data is published retrospectively with a one-month delay. For example, January data is published in February. Historical Data: Data is available from July 2022 onwards. Geography This data includes views of England, Wales, Jersey, Isle of Man, Guernsey, and Alderney. Statistical Classification Management Information – This is not an official statistic. Caveats Data Accuracy Data is as accurate as the data held by the NHSBSA data warehouse at the time of publishing each month. Total figures may not agree month to month due to openings and closures resulting in pharmacies changing group size or where backdated amendments are made. 100 Hour Contracts The 100 hour flag indicates that the pharmacy was originally established as a 100-hour contract. These pharmacies may now operate between 72-100 hours per week. Health and Wellbeing Boards Please note that HWB boards are only assigned to the information we hold on BSA databases at the time of publishing. Currently, we do not hold information of this kind for Private or Out of Hours Contractors, nor do we hold this for Contractors outside of England. Contractor F-Codes NHS and Private will have a unique ‘F-Code’ account; however, typically the same address will be present.
