This sampling survey has been carried out by, British Geological Survey (BGS) in collaboration with a group of oil companies for Offshore Regional Mapping, the survey took place from June to July 1990 to the north and west of The Hebrides on board the M/V Bucentaur. The purpose was to collect data to enhance the geological knowledge in the area. Sample data (borehole) were collected using wireline drilling equipment. These data are archived by BGS. Technical details of the survey are contained in BGS report WB/90/26C.
