Scottish Water's StopCocks

Scottish Water stopcocks for properties. All in use stopcocks for properties supplied with water from Scottish Water. In most properties, the external water shut‑off valve (often called a stopcock, stop tap, toby, or boundary box) is located outside the home, close to the property boundary where the private supply pipe meets the public water network. It is most commonly found in or near the pavement outside the front of the property, at the end of a driveway, in a grass verge, or at the boundary between the garden and the footpath. The valve is usually accessed via a small plastic or metal cover, roughly 15–20 cm square, typically marked “WATER”, or simply “W”.
