This dataset contains the anonymised transit line data used to create the 2014 UK shipping density grid.The MCA were currently mid-way through amodernisation programme which involvedupdating the current network. As a result the MCA had AIS base stations on both the old (Legacy) and new (FCG) networks. This dataset used the AIS data from both the Legacy (Jan-Apr) and FCG (May-Dec) systems to create a finalised 2014 dataset.
