UK Depopulation report in compliance with Article 18 (4) of retained EU Council Regulation 1099/2009 on the protection of animals at the time of killing. The published depopulation results are from England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland currently makes its own return to the EU commission. Data on operations carried out for the purpose of killing animals for public health, animal health, animal welfare or environmental reasons under the supervision of the competent authority is collated from the devolved authorities for Scotland, England and Wales by the APHA. The report must be updated annually as retained EU Regulation 1099/2009 on the protection of animals at the time of killing requires the competent authority to publish a report on the depopulation operations carried out during the previous year, by 30 June.
