2010 - 2010 Centre for Environment, Fisheries & Aquaculture Science (Cefas) Survey : CEND 13/10 (part of North Sea Groundfish Survey, Qtr 3 (FSS: IBTS3E; NSGFS))

This survey was undertaken by Cefas as part of the North Sea Groundfish Survey, Qtr 3 (FSS: IBTS3E; NSGFS); 75 core trawl stations are completed annually, to provide distribution and stock composition estimates for fish species. Station, catch, length (all species) and biological data (selected species) are collected using research vessels and GOV trawls. Benthic catches are also recorded. These annual surveys (ongoing) are carried out in support of EU data regulations and as part of the International Bottom Trawl survey. Additional aims include collection of water temperature, salinity and litter data. Survey took place between 07/08/2010 and 08/09/2010 on CEFAS Endeavour Equipment used during this survey : - Bottle Casts Niskin bottles Caesium Rosette plus CTD - Bottle Casts Niskin bottles IBTS standard cast - Otter Trawl GOV Long Wing 36/47 Standard IYFS Spec. - Otter Trawl Poly GOV 36 47 SWest IBTS Spec 3 Bridle Std Ground Gear no kite Survey operations were undertaken on 183 stations 176 different species were caught on this survey
