Two plankton surveys were carried out (RV Cirolana 2x/02: 29th April-12th May 2002 and **RV Corystes 4z/03: 4th-9th May 2003**) in the English Channel and southern North Sea to determine the distribution and abundance of crab (*Cancer pagurus*) larvae in relation to fishing ground and sea bed sediments over the sea area bounded by latitudes 48° 30'N and 53° 00'N and longitudes 9° 00'W and 2° 00'W. This data consists of the numbers and developmental stages of crab larvae, along with associated positional data and volumes filtered.
