This dataset summarises the status and trend for 319 bird species in the UK. These data formed part of the Tenth UK Report for Article 12 of the EU Birds Directive (2008-2012). The structure of the data corresponds to an agreed EU level format available here. http://bd.eionet.europa.eu/activities/Reporting/Article_12/reference_portal. Following public consultation and government sign-off, the final UK report was submitted to the European Commission in January 2014. The data in this dataset are structured into the following sections. 1. Species information 2. Population size 3. Population trend 4. Breeding distribution map and range size 5. Breeding range trend 6. Progress in work related to Species Action Plans (SAPs), Management Plans (MPs) and Brief Management Statements (BMSs) 8. SPA network overlaps The column headers have a numeric reference related to the above sections followed by a textual short title for each field. The reference portal gives further details of what all of these columns mean.
