This dataset consists of the boundaries of all identified secondary shopping frontages within the London Borough of Sutton, including those within Sutton Town Centre and each of the district centres. In secondary shopping frontages, planning policy is more relaxed about the number of shops. It is considered that, in addition to A1, A3 and A4 uses, the following uses may be appropriate: Financial services, such as banks and building societies, professional services including estate and employment agencies (A2 uses); Hot food takeaways, provided there is not a clustering of such uses (A5 use); Clinics, health centres, crèches, day nurseries, day centres, schools, art galleries, museums, libraries, halls, law courts and non-residential education and training centres (certain D1 uses); and Cinemas, music and concert halls, bingo and dance halls, swimming baths, skating rinks, gymnasiums or areas used for indoor sports or recreation uses (certain D2 uses). Each polygon denotes the boundary of each secondary shopping frontage: attribution includes the associated policies.
