This dataset contains stem diameter measurements and species identity of all trees with a stem diameter greater than 10cm for nine permanent forest plots (each 4-ha in size) in Sepilok Forest Reserve, Sabah, Malaysia. All stems >10cm in diameter were measured and identified to species (or closest taxonomic unit). The census was carried out in 2020. The data were collected to quantify how forest carbon stocks and dynamics vary across forest types with contrasting soil nutrient profiles.
