This survey was undertaken by Cefas as part of the North West Groundfish Survey, Qtr 3 (FSS: NWGFS); Station, catch, length (all species) and biological data (selected species) for each of the annual surveys in the Irish Sea and Bristol Channel using research vessels and 4m beam trawls. Data mainly used to create indices of abundance in support of EU data regulations and as part of an ICES funded research program. Additional aims include collection of benthic, litter, water temperature and salinity and acoustic data. Survey took place between 11/09/2001 and 05/10/2001 on Corystes Equipment used during this survey : - Beam Trawl 4m steel commercial 3/5 link mat flip up 75mm CE 40mm liner AFT - Benthic Sampling Gear Grabs 0.2 sq. m Day Grab - Benthic Sampling Gear Jennings 2m Beam Trawl Standard spec. - Drop Nets Ring Net 0.5 Metre deployed from hydro winch Survey operations were undertaken on 136 stations 90 different species were caught on this survey
