This survey was undertaken by Cefas as part of the North Sea Groundfish Survey, Qtr 3 (FSS: IBTS3E; NSGFS); 75 core trawl stations are completed annually, to provide distribution and stock composition estimates for fish species. Station, catch, length (all species) and biological data (selected species) are collected using research vessels and GOV trawls. Benthic catches are also recorded. These annual surveys (ongoing) are carried out in support of EU data regulations and as part of the International Bottom Trawl survey. Additional aims include collection of water temperature, salinity and litter data. Survey took place between 18/08/1999 and 20/09/1999 on Cirolana Equipment used during this survey : - Benthic Sampling Gear Jennings 2m Beam Trawl Standard spec. - Otter Trawl GOV 36/47 IBTS standard spec 2 x 0.8m canvas kites - Otter Trawl GOV Long Wing 36/47 Standard IYFS Spec. - Vertical Profiler CTD Type 8770 Survey operations were undertaken on 236 stations 170 different species were caught on this survey
