Wirral Council Parking Account

This dataset provides information on the Wirral Council parking account. Details are provided to meet the Local Government Transparency Code 2015 requirements. The penalty charge notice income figure includes both on and off street parking. The on street pay and display income covers the Birkenhead Controlled Parking Zone. Parking permits data covers visitors parking (on street), Internal Permits (both on and off street), Traders On & Off Street Permits, and Other on Street Permits (Individuals, Students etc). The Council believes that there is sufficient off street parking provision, and In accordance with Section 55 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended from October 2004 by Section 95 of the Traffic Management Act 2004, the Council uses any surplus funds from parking operations and enforcement income, after deducting for all the costs of delivering parking services, to support the provision highway maintenance within the revenue budget for the Environment and Regulation Service.
