This survey was undertaken by Cefas as part of the North Sea Groundfish Survey, Qtr 4 (FSS: IBTS4E); Approximately 70 core trawl stations are completed annually to provide distribution and stock composition estimates for fish species. Station, catch, length (all species) and biological data (selected species) are collected using research vessels and GOV trawls. Benthic catches are also recorded. The surveys are carried out in support of EU data regulations and as part of the Internation Bottom Trawl survey. Additional aims include collection of water temperature, salinity and litter data. Survey took place between 23/10/1991 and 19/11/1991 on Cirolana Equipment used during this survey : - Bottle Casts Nansen bottles Reversing surface and bottom - Otter Trawl GOV 36/47 IBTS standard spec 2 x 0.8m canvas kites - Otter Trawl GOV Long Wing 36/47 Standard IYFS Spec. Survey operations were undertaken on 121 stations 80 different species were caught on this survey
